Only beauty in Islam

True meaning to Islam…Not from the media

The Haa’iyyah Poem of Ibn Abee Daawood (d.316)

The famous Haa’iyyah poem of Ibn Abee Daawood (rahimahullaah) and its illustrious points concerning the correct Islaamic ‘Aqeedah was recently adapted using the explanation of Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan for the ‘Aqeedah course, as part of the Summer Islaamic Courses. The following is the text from the poem…

* Hold tightly to the rope of Allaah and the guidance,
And do not be an innovator, so that you might be successful.

* And practice your religion based on the Book of Allaah and the Sunan which
have come from the Messenger of Allaah so you will be saved and earn reward.

* And say: Not a created thing is the Speech of our great King,
Such was the religious position of the pious ones (before us) who spoke well.

* And do not be a person who takes no position on the Quran,
As did the followers of Jahm, and they had been too lax (to take the right position).

* And do not say that the Quran is created, meaning: its recitation,
Since the Speech of Allaah, through its recitation, is made clear.

* And say: Allaah will make himself visible to all the creation, openly,
Just as the full moon is not hard to see, and your Lord (will be seen) more clearly.

* And He was not born, nor has He fathered anyone,
Nor is there anything similar to Him, exalted be the Glorified One.

* A Jahmee rejects this, however, we have
As a testimony to the truth of what we say – a hadeeth that clarifies it.

* Jareer narrated it, from the words of Muhammad,
So say what he said about that, and you will be successful.

* And perhaps a Jahmee might deny His Right Hand as well,
While both of His Hands are giving out all kinds of bounties.

* And say: The Ever-Compelling descends each night,
Without asking for exact details, magnificent is the One God and most worthy of praise.

* Down to the lowest heaven, granting bounties from His Grace,
As the gates of the heavens are opened and spread widely.

* He says: Is there anyone seeking forgiveness who would like to meet a Forgiver?
Or anyone seeking bounties of goodness and provisions, so he could be given (what he requests)?

* A group have reported this whose reports are not to be rejected,
But sadly some have went wrong and did not believe them, marring themselves.

* And say: Indeed the best of the people after Muhammad
Were his two deputies of old, and then ‘Uthmaan, according to the most correct position.

* And the fourth of them was the best of creation after them,
‘Alee, the companion of goodness, through goodness he was successful.

* Those are the people, those who we have no doubt about,
Upon the great camels of Firdows, shining brightly and roaming about.

* Sa’eed, Sa’d, Ibn ‘Awf, Talhah,
‘Aamir of Fihr, and Zubayr the praiseworthy.

* And speak with the best terms about the Companions, all of them,
And do not be one who speaks ill of them, pointing out their faults and criticizing,

* Since the clear Revelation has spoke of their excellence,
And in (Soorah) al-Fat-h are verses about the Companions, praising them.

* And regarding the pre-ordained Qadr, be convinced, since it is
The pillar that combines many affairs of the Religion, and the Religion encompasses much.

* And do not reject, out of ignorance, (belief in) Nakeer and Munkar,
Or the Pool or the Scales, surely you are being advised sincerely.

* And say: Allaah, the Great, will remove, from of His Grace,
Out of the Fire, people, burned severely, who will then be tossed

* Into the river in Firdows, wherein they will regain life by its water,
Like a seed taken by a flood that comes and wipes things away with its abundant water.

* And surely, the Messenger of Allaah will intercede,
And speak about the punishment of the grave, that it is the truth, made clear.

* And do not make takfeer of those who pray, even if they commit sins,
Since all of them commits sins, while the Owner of the Throne forgives graciously.

* And do not hold a belief like that of the Khawaarij, for it is
A position held by only those who desire it, and it is destructive and disgraceful.

* And do not be a Murji’, one who plays games with his religion,
Surely, the Murji’ is joking about the religion (ie. not taking it seriously).

* And say: Eemaan (faith) consists of statements, intentions,
And Actions, according to the explicit statement of the Prophet.

* And it decreases sometimes, due to disobedience, and sometimes
Because of obedience it grows, and on the Scale it will outweigh (other things).

* And keep yourself from the opinions of people and their stances,
Since the stance of the Messenger of Allaah is more befitting and easier on one’s chest.

* And do not be from those who play games with their religion,
Attacking the people of hadeeth and reviling them.

* If you keep this belief all your life, O holder of this (poem),
You will be upon goodness, day and night.

Whats on my mind – Alhamdulillah

Assalaamu Alaikum brothers and sisters in Islam

I like to talk about what is on my mind, inshaAllah, for those who know me, I talk about death alot, from death onwards is more serious than a second of this life if you think about it. Forgive me if I made any mistakes

Today is the day that will change your life, for yesterday you can not change the past and tomorrow may never come. Today is the day in which we as people can learn the deen and please Allah (swt) more.

Today is the day in which you can be grateful to Allah (swt) that you are still alive and able to please Allah (swt) when there are those in the grave right now who can not return back to earth and be a better person.

Its easy to make a mistake my brothers and sisters but are we able to raise our hands to Allah (swt) in dua and ask forgiveness? Sadly many of us including myself lack in this field, we say I’ll ask forgiveness later, tomorrow, next week, when I can be bothered! SubhanAllah, we don’t know if we will be alive later or tomorrow for only Allah (swt) will command the angel of Death to take our souls when the time comes and that is it for your temporary life.

There are many talks, many books about death, many of us listening to me know what death is about, but we don’t take death seriously, this is the start of everything that will happen to you in the next life, the grave, the Day of Judgement, the moment Allah (swt) tells you where you are going…it is all real, no lies, no fantasy, only truth and reality and second by second our time is coming up, that is how quick it is reaching us, second by second

Once the Prophet led Ishaa prayer during the last days of his life and after finishing the prayer he said: “Do you realize the importance of this night?” Nobody present on the surface of the earth tonight will be living after the completion of one hundred years from this night.” Bukhari

This is why I started off with today is the day that will change your life, for yesterday you can not change the past and tomorrow may never come. This inshaAllah will wake myself up first to become a better Muslim and then I hope that whomever reads or listens to this will wake up to, May Allah (swt) open our hearts to the true meaning of Islam and make us act upon and follow the true meaning of Islam.

Alhamdulillah we are Muslims, but this is no promise of Jannah, do we want to reach Jannah? Then there are rules we have to follow and that is following the Quran and Sunnah, sounds easy but the Ummah sadly makes life hard for themselves in all ways.

For example the prayer behind the Imam

What is happening during prayer? The Imam is about to prostate and so many Muslims are already prostrating before the Imam even gets to that position!

Prophet Muhammad (saw) led a prayer and after prayer he addressed the people and said “O people I am the Imam, don’t do in ruku ahead of me, nor stand up or do a thing ahead of me. Since I see you from the front and also from behind” then he said “If you too see what I saw, you would have wept more and laughed very little in your life time.” The people asked the Prophet (saw) what he had seen, the Prophet (saw) replied “I saw the Heaven and the Hell”

This is how seriously the smallest of things that we think is ok, but its not.

Another thing which really annoys me, is the lowering the gaze which brothers and sisters take for granted, NO the hadith doesn’t say you can have the first look for free and you are sinned on the second! You are sinned for intentionally looking at the opposite gender, if you looked by mistake for example brothers you were looking at the floor and looked up not knowing the sister is there then look back down and never to look at the sister again, inshaAllah Allah will forgive you for you obeyed what Allah said.

Prophet Muhammad (saw) said “The Adultery of the eyes is the sight to gaze at a forbidden thing, the adultery of the tongue is the talk.”

JazakAllah Khair for reading

Story – My One Eyed Mother

This story when I first read it, bought tears to my eyes…it still does everytime I read it..

———————————————————————-

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… she was such an
embarrassment. My mom ran a small shop at a flea market. She collected little weeds and such to sell…anything for the money that we needed, she was such an embarrassment.

There was this one day during elementary school. I remember that it was field day, and my mom came. I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school…“Your mom only has one eye?!” and they taunted me. I wished that my mom would just disappear from this world, so I said to my mom, “Mom, why don’t you have the other eye?! You’re only going to make me a laughingstock. Why don’t you just die?” My mom did not respond.

I guess I felt a little bad, but at the same time, it felt good to think that I had said what I’d wanted to say all this time. Maybe it was because my mom hadn’t punished me, but I didn’t think that I had hurt her feelings very badly. That night…I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. My mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might wake me. I took a look at her, and then turned away.

Because of the thing I had said to her earlier, there was something pinching at me in the corner of my heart. Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of her one eye. So I told myself that I would grow up and become successful, because I hated my one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty. Then I studied really hard. I left my mother and came to Seoul and studied, and got accepted in the Seoul University with all the confidence I had. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. Then I had kids, too. Now I’m living happily as a successful man.

I like it here because it’s a place that doesn’t remind me of my mom. This happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when someone unexpected came to see me “What?! Who’s this?!” …It was my mother…Still with her one eye. It felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me. My little girl ran away, scared of my mom’s eye. And I asked her, “Who are you? I don’t know you!!!” as if he trying to make that real. I screamed at her “How dare you come to my house and scare my daughter! GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!” And to this, my mother quietly answered, “oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,” and she disappeared. Thank good ness… she doesn’t recognize me. I was quite relieved. I told myself that I wasn’t going to care, or think about this for the rest of my life.

Then a wave of relief came upon me…one day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. I lied to my wife saying that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went down to the old shack, that I used to call a house…just out of curiosity there, I found my mother fallen on the cold ground. But I did not shed a single tear. She had a piece of paper in her hand…. it was a letter to me.

She wrote:

My son…

I think my life has been long enough now. And… I won’t visit Seoul anymore… but would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit me once in a while? I miss you so much. And I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I decided not to go to the school…. For you… I’m sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an embarrassment for you. You see, when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with only one eye… so I gave you mine…I was so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye. I was never upset at you for anything you did. The couple times that you were angry with me. I thought to myself, ‘it’s because he loves me.’ I miss the times when you were still young around
me.

I miss you so much. I love you. You mean the world to me

My world shattered!!!
Then I cried for the person who lived for me… My MOTHER

————————————————————————————-

Brothers and sisters, well even non- Muslims, everyone should look after and respect your mother, we will never be able to repay what our mothers have done for us, the fact that she carried you for 9 months in her tummy, did she complain? No she wanted you to be ready for the world, when you were a child screaming, did she give up on you? No. Look after your mothers.

Ask Allah while the time is right

Narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, “Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: “Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?” Bukhari – Volume 2 – Book 21 – Hadith 246

One Third of the Quran

Bismillaah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Merciful.

Qul huwallaahu ahad
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

Allahus samad
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

Lam yalid wa lam yuulad
He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

Wa lamyakun lahuuu kufuwan ahad
And there is none like unto Him.

Narrated By Abu Said Al-Khudri: A man heard another man reciting (in the prayers): ‘Say (O Muhammad): “He is Allah, the One.” (112.1) And he recited it repeatedly.
When it was morning, he went to the Prophet and informed him about that as if he considered that the recitation of that Sura by itself was not enough. Allah’s Apostle said,
“By Him in Whose Hand my life is, it is equal to one-third of the Quran.” Bukhari

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: [may Allah be pleased with him]
The Prophet said to his companions, "Is it difficult for any of you to recite one third of the Qur'an in one night?"
This suggestion was difficult for them so they said, "Who among us has the power to do so, O Allah's Apostle?"
Allah Apostle replied: " Allah (the) One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need.'
(Surat Al-Ikhlas 112.1--to the End) is equal to one third of the Qur'an." Bukhari

You have one life…and no turning back

You cant stop one thing in this life, and that is Death. Every human being whether a believer or non-believer will stand in front of Allah and He will judge us according to our deeds. Never think you have enough good deeds and always think that you need to ask Allah for His forgiveness. Death doesnt come to just the old, but the young, Allah hasnt promise anyone that you will live till you are 80, 90, 100, unless it is written down, but my point being we do not know how long we are here for, look at Gaza when so many beautiful children have died, could anyone of known that so many children would of died?

Human beings whether believers or non-believers, Allah has sent down a message to the whole human kind, that is life is only a temp while the next is forever. Allah has told us He is the First and the Last and that human kind must worship Him and Him alone. Allah has given us life, and when the time has come, we will die, there will be no “Extra minutes” to improve your deen, there is no coming back to the world after your soul as been taken away from the body you are with right now.

Wake up now before its too late, YOU still have a life to please Allah when there are billions billions billions of people who are lying in their graves right now, and if they could they would wish to be back in this life to do what is right and forbid what is wrong. When the time is over you will be just as helpless then those who are in the grave right now, and this clearly shows that Allah is more powerful than you, and that you should of listened to Him when He the most Merciful gave you a life to live.

There is an old saying that tomorrow never comes, we cant be sure that we will last till tomorrow, everything that we have right now will not be with us in the grave expect our deeds. Have we worshipped Allah enough? Have we giving to Charity? Have we ever had the time to pray all night to Him instead of sleeping in the beds we have?

How many of us know the Hadith that is narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, “Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: “Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?” (Bukhari)

Wake up Ummah and give more of your time to Allah (swt)

Lower your Gaze

Someone of the opposite gender is walking towards you, what do you do? Any human being would look, maybe stare, but Islam teaches us to lower our gaze. When it means lower your gaze, it doesn’t mean you can have the first look for free! That is one of the biggest mistakes that Muslims make today.

The Messenger of Allaah (saw) said: “O Ali, do not follow a glance with another, for you will be forgiven for the first, but not for the second.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 2701; see Saheeh al-Jaami’, 7953)

Many will take that Hadith and say that it says that you will be forgiven for the first look but not the second, but what it really is referring to is that if you had looked at what is illegal by mistake, look away and you will be forgiven for that mistake as long as you dont look again.

We must always lower the gaze not only on the streets but everywhere else, for example just because the opposite gender is on the news, or on a poster, on the internet or even a wallpaper on a phone, doesnt mean you can look, this is something we need to avoid as well.

Avoid places in which you may know that it will be hard for you to not look

Narrated By Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, ‘Beware! Avoid sitting on the roads.” They (the people) said, “O Allah’s Apostle! We can’t help sitting (on the roads) as these are (our places) here we have talks.” The Prophet said, ‘ lf you refuse but to sit, then pay the road its right’ They said, “What is the right of the road, O Allah’s Apostle?” He said, ‘Lowering your gaze, refraining from harming others, returning greeting, and enjoining what is good, and forbidding what is evil.”

Remember the earth that which sin is committed will bear witness for or against us on the Day of Judgement as Allah (swt) says in the Quran:

“That Day it will declare its information (about all that happened over it of good and evil) (99:4)

“So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom shall see it. And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom shall see it” (99:7-8)

And Allah knows Best

Death – a little reminder

Human kind will always think about what they will do today or tomorrow, but how many really stop to think that death could come closer than expected? We can talk about the good things, but we shouldnt forget about death.

This is a reason to why we say InshaAllah to when we plan ahead, only Allah (swt) knows when we will leave this planet, and when He chooses there will be no delay.

Narrated By ‘Abdullah bin Mus’ud: Allah’s Apostle, the true and truly inspired said, “(The matter of the Creation of) a human being is put together in the womb of the mother in forty days, and then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period, and then a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then Allah sends an angel who is ordered to write four things. He is ordered to write down his (i.e. the new creature’s) deeds, his livelihood, his (date of) death, and whether he will be blessed or wretched (in religion).”

How many that have died lately never reached an old age? How many that have died lately never had an illness? There is no promise that you will live to 100 unless its written.

The believers must prepare for death, by worshipping Allah (swt) not just the tongue but through the heart, we must mean that we are slave to Allah and only He. There is billions of Muslims in this world, but only Allah (swt) knows how many are Muslim by name and Muslim by following the Quran and Sunnah. Each and every day, the believers should look at themselves and correct themselves, we all make mistakes but it makes you a better person to give up on pride and correct our mistakes and ask Allah (swt) for forgiveness.

Narrated By Anas: The Prophet said, “When a human being is laid in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their foot steps, two angels come to him and make him sit and ask him: What did you use to say about this man, Muhammad ? He will say: I testify that he is Allah’s slave and His Apostle. Then it will be said to him, ‘Look at your place in the Hell-Fire. Allah has given you a place in Paradise instead of it.’ ” The Prophet added, “The dead person will see both his places. But a non-believer or a hypocrite will say to the angels, ‘I do not know, but I used to say what the people used to say! It will be said to him, ‘Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by reciting the Quran).’ Then he will be hit with an iron hammer between his two ears, and he will cry and that cry will be heard by whatever approaches him except human beings and jinns.

Alhamdulillah we are Muslims, never give up doing good deeds for the sake of Allah, and if you make a sin, dont wait till the night or next week, ask Allah for His forgiveness as soon as possible, remember death doesn’t wait.

Reminder

Alhamdulillah, All praise is due to Allah and only He, All worship that we do should only be to the One who is Allah. Alhamdulillah All praise is to Allah for giving us the littlest things though many of us are not grateful for it, Allah as given us so much, sight, hearing, voices, parts of the body, we have so much but are we grateful?

We look to a blind person, do they complain that they can’t see? No
We look to a deaf person, do they complain that they can’t hear? No
They are grateful for what they have, but many times do we moan & complain even about the little of things? at least every day.

While I was away from the forum, I had an up and down life, my health was up and down but Alhamdulillah I’m better inshaAllah.

We look to Allah for help and guidance, only He can give you what you seek, our days alive are numbered, and everyday if you are not thinking about death, then you should start. Are we ready to leave? what would many of us be more worried about when we leave? Our families? Our wealth? Our Fortunes? Everything we have worked for? Or what will happen in the next life?

SubhanAllah this life is a test and I dont care how many times I remind myself, and my brothers and sisters, even the non-believers, death is just the beginning, you read that again and again, and you wonder what does it mean? how can death be the beginning?

Quote:
Narrated By Ibn ‘Umar from his father: The Prophet said, “The deceased is tortured in his grave for the wailing done over him.”

Many things will happen from the grave, for a believer and a non-believer there is a Hadith that explains what will happen in the grave.

Quote:
Narrated By Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Apostle said, “When (Allah’s) slave is put in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their footsteps, two angels come to him and make him sit and ask, ‘What did you use to say about this man (i.e. Muhammad)?’ The faithful Believer will say, ‘I testify that he is Allah’s slave and His Apostle.’ Then they will say to him, ‘Look at your place in the Hell Fire; Allah has given you a place in Paradise instead of it.’ So he will see both his places.” (Qatada said, “We were informed that his grave would be made spacious.” Then Qatada went back to the narration of Anas who said) Whereas a hypocrite or a non-believer will be asked, “What did you use to say about this man.” He will reply, “I do not know; but I used to say what the people used to say.” So they will say to him, “Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by reciting the Quran).” Then he will be hit with iron hammers once, that he will send such a cry as everything near to him will hear, except Jinns and human beings.

Its tough to read but this is why we are trying our best to be strong believers, yes there is many hardship for us in our daily life and Allah Sees all, He know what you are going through and remember this is His test to us, Allah will test the ones He loves. Allah doesn’t need anything from us, but we will always need everything from Him.

Dont give up on Allah, for He is the most Merciful and if we make mistakes and repent and do our best to not give up He will forgive us

Quote:
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: I live in the thought of My servant and I am with him as he remembers Me. (The Holy Prophet) further said: By Allah, Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than what one of you would do on finding the lost camel in the waterless desert. When he draws near Me by the span of his hand. I draw near him by the length of a cubit and when he draws near Me by the length of a cubit. I draw near him by the length of a fathom and when he draws near Me walking I draw close to him hurriedly.

I am only human and I need to remind myself of many things as well, yes this post is mixed up with information, but I cant spoon feed you everything for I dont know everything, brothers and sisters, read the Quran, learn your deen more, inshaAllah make a promise that from now, and during Ramadan and after Ramadan that we will do our best to please Allah, pray on time, fast in the month of Ramadan and other days, give Charity etc.

Quote:
Narrated By Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “The good deeds of any person will not make him enter Paradise.” (i.e., None can enter Paradise through his good deeds.) They (the Prophet’s companions) said, ‘Not even you, O Allah’s Apostle?’ He said, “Not even myself, unless Allah bestows His favor and mercy on me.” So be moderate in your religious deeds and do the deeds that are within your ability: and none of you should wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase his good deeds, and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah.”

Let us help each other with the deen, instead of messing around, for we dont know when our time is up, what would Allah be pleased with? us learning the deen or us messing about in idle talks and not learning the deen?

I love you all for the Sake of Allah.
